Can you explain your role within the team?
Performance analysis support to various classes, specifically the women’s match racing. Collecting and analysing information and data on the British team and sussing out what the other competitors do, to best prepare our team.
What’s your sailing background?
Grew up sailing various dinghys. Instructed for a few summers in Turkey, windsurfing (generally in warm weather locations!), yacht sailing in the Solent and the occasional race!

Can you explain what a normal day as Assistant Performance Analyst involves?
My day tends to vary depending on who I’m working with, but presently quite a lot of my time is spent filming and analysing the women’s match racing. Travelling around with the team to regattas collecting information and spying on the opposition! I’m involved with other technical projects e.g. looking at effective boat set up for speed and analysing the data, but the role is pretty varied and throws up something new all the time which is great!
If you weren’t in this role what else would you be?
Previously worked as a team manager for one of the British Skeleton teams which I really enjoyed, or maybe go back to my original idea of being a blue peter presenter!
What’s your greatest fear or phobia?
Sharks and generally any kind of scary movie
What would you love to do but never have the time or money for it?
Travel round Africa and go on safari
What’s your worst habit?
Asking lots of ‘quick questions’
