Certification Administrator

 

Salary: £20,000 per annum                                                                 

Location: Hamble, Southampton

Full Time: 35 hours per week (opportunity for overtime during busy periods)

The RYA sets and monitors the standards for national training schemes in sailing and powerboating, which are delivered by RYA qualified instructors through our network of recognised centres.  The Certification team are responsible for maintaining the database detailing the holders of RYA qualifications, and the issuing of the appropriate certification.  They are therefore the first point of contact for administrative enquiries from instructors, examiners, training centres and the general public. 

Your responsibilities as a Certification Administrator will include, but are not limited to:

  • Receiving and responding promptly to administrative queries by phone, email and letter, from instructors, examiners, training centres and the general public;
  • Maintaining the database of qualified instructors and certificate holders to ensure all relevant members of staff have access to the most up to date information at all times;
  • Accurately and efficiently checking and processing examination reports, application and renewal forms and issuing certificates in accordance with RYA’s policy and statutory requirement; and
  • On an occasional basis, representing the RYA at Boat Shows and relevant events in order to provide information to the public on the RYA's training schemes.
