The RMC supports the needs of all RYA Race Officers and Mark layers in the UK, and our new committee member will be able to get involved in a range of projects and activities that do just that.
Could it be you? Get in touch today.
The RMC will be responsive to the needs of our community and so the specific projects may vary, but as a rough guide you can expect to be involved in:
- Designing and delivering development opportunities such as conferences and courses to new and experienced race officers and mark layers.
- Communicating important changes within the RYA and the racing events sector more broadly so that RYA race officers and mark layers are up to date.
- Supporting the applications and appointments process for new Regional and National Race Officers and Mark layers.
- Reviewing and providing comment on RYA-led activities that are relevant to the race management community.
We’re looking for someone who has active experience of race management, wants to drive forward our practice in the UK to be as good as it can be, and has a passion for supporting the development of others.
As our key areas of work involve professional development and promoting welfare, inclusion and wellbeing, we are also really interested to hear from anyone who has experience in any of these areas in their professional or other voluntary activities. This does not need to be limited to sailing or racing.
The committee meets on average 4 times per year, which includes two in person meetings in London and other work conducted over email or in small subgroups. The role is voluntary, but appropriate expenses will be reimbursed.
Are you interested? We want to hear from you. Please contact Jacqui Roberts on 02380 604161 by phone or via email. Jacqui will be pleased to have an informal chat with you or provide the short application form.
Closing date is Thursday 15th August 2024.
