About the Formula Kite European Championship 2023

The 2023 Formula Kite European Championships are coming to Portsmouth from 19-24 September.
The world’s best racers from the Olympic circuit will be racing on the waters off Eastney Beach, for the title of European champion.

There will be opportunities for schools and youth organisations in the Portsmouth area to attend the event from Tuesday 19 September to Sunday 24 September 2023. Groups will learn more about the exciting new sport of kite foiling up close and be able to take part in a specially-created Beach Club involving STEM activities and environmental challenges, as well as the opportunity to try out watersports.

Role description:

  • We are looking for a teacher to lead and deliver STEM activities to key stage 2 & 3 school children and youth groups. There are two activities in total.
  • The STEM activities have already been created but we need a qualified teacher to deliver them.
  • We would like the teacher to manage volunteers to help deliver the activities.
  • There will be two sessions a day – morning and afternoon with approx. 30 children in each session
  • We would like the teacher to pull together a list of all resources required to deliver the activities so these can be ordered by the RYA.
