Bookings open for online workshops exploring the hot topics clubs are facing right now

Club development sessions in the new year

These Club Development Sessions will cover the following topics that you have told us are of greatest important to you right now:

  • How can we retain more members?10th January
  • How can we recruit and retain more volunteers?17th January
  • How can we develop or replace our facility?24th January
  • What advice is there for the governance and legal challenges our club is facing?31st January

Each workshop will explore one of these topics, leaving you with the latest information and ideas to create or update your plans and find out what support is available from the RYA in each area.

These workshops will run from 8 - 9pm. If you register for the workshop you will be able to view a recording if you cannot make the live session.  All the workshops can be booked here.

These online workshops are a repeat of the workshops presented at the Affiliated Clubs Conferences so are ideal if you were a delegate and now want to revisit the content, as well as for those who were unable to make their live regional event.

Gareth Brookes, RYA Regional Development Officer Manager, said: “These are all important topics but I believe that the priority in the new year for most clubs will be the topic covered in our first workshop - “How can we retain more members?” - as 90% of clubs have their renewals process coming up in January, February and March. There were 40,000 new club members in 2021. We’ve had this huge influx of members so this is the most important January ever because we have to hang on to these people.”
