Upwind light wind sail controls

RYA Coach Assessor, Shaun Priestley, demonstrates some of the key settings for your sail controls when sailing upwind in light winds. In this video, we are looking at wind speeds between 2 to 7 knots.

Remember

• Make sure the sail isn’t too full

• Ease the mainsheet off ‘block to block’

• Kicker on

• Cunningham off

• Generally, a flat sail, with depth added for waves
