RDO NI Blog November 2021

Hi everyone, “I’m Back”!

Many thanks to Gordon Reid who will be back to the water coaching!

One of my immediate tasks now that I’m back is to get an instructor development programme out and advertised.

There is a lot of names on the contact list for the course and we will endeavour to meet the whole need. However, candidates must have all pre-requisites before applying. If you are overseas at Uni, check out any courses that may be running near you.

If you have any questions, or you want to be added to the contact list for training, then please let me know.

Be prepared for emails in your inboxes. 😊

Club of the Year

NI only has one club in the mix for RYA & Yachts and Yachting – Ballyholme Yacht Club

Focus Club

Focus Club Programme is now opened

RYANI are delighted to open the Focus Club Programme for 2022. We are looking to support clubs to sustainably grow and support the active membership at their club, consequently increasing the opportunities they offer and the number of people taking part in boating. Due to Covid the 2020/2021 Focus Club programme had to be stalled as priority changed for RYANI & clubs through challenging times. Although not there yet we are seeing more clubs returning to ‘normal’ and we believe now is the right time to relaunch the programme. RYANI will be supporting up to 10 clubs through the focus club programme apply here - https://www.cognitoforms.com/RYANI/FocusClubProgramme

Affiliated Clubs Conference

22nd January at Holywood Yacht Club

At this years Affiliated Clubs Conferences we will be exploring the theme of 'planning for a successful future'. The regional and home country conferences will be an opportunity to meet and reconnect with other clubs as well as RYA staff and volunteers. As well as hearing the headlines from the region and the latest local opportunities for your club, there will be a practical session to support you with your club development planning. There is also a programme of club development sessions led by experts that will explore the following areas -

How can we recruit and retain more volunteers?

What advice is there for the governance and legal challenges our club is facing?
