Happy newyear to you all! The best news is that the days are now getting longer – sothis month it’s time to focus on preparations for the new season.

InstructorTraining Day

We’vealready had lots of bookings for the Instructor Training Day at RockleyWatersports on Saturday 22 February, so now’s the time to grab your places.There are both shore-based and on-water workshops, with lots of variety from aTeam15 windsurfing update to spinnaker sessions, PWC to multihull sailing andmuch more – all you need to do is choose the ideal ones for your preferreddiscipline.  

There arestill places available on the minibus from Plymouth and Exeter, so please contactme directly – places are being allocated on a first come, first servedbasis. We also encourage car share, and accommodation is available at Rockleyfor just £10/night.

ClubDevelopment Forums

The team andI will be running a series of Club Development Forums, which will be evening eventsaround the region between late January and the end of March. Each event willcover two topics, such as the use of information from the satisfaction survey,increasing junior membership, encouraging female participation or improvingmember retention.

Take a look at the topics and venues and be sure to send at least two people from yourclub - the ones most interested in the topics specified, obviously! You canbook for more than two if you wish, andthe events are free.

OnBoard Training Days

A heads-upto all OnBoard clubs in the region – we are planning at least two, and probablythree, training days in March to help you make the best of the new OnBoardteaching materials. This will be a great, free instructor CPD opportunity.If you wouldlike to host one of these events at your club, please contact me as soonas possible.

Junior racing news from HPM, Duncan West

Entry is nowopen for the Youth Nationals, to be held this year at Plas Heli, NorthWales from 3 to 10 April.

Sailorslooking to be selected for Youth Squads need to attend the 2020 RYA YouthPhysical Profiling, at Osprey Leisure Centre, Portland on 8 February; hurry- sign-up closes on 20 January!
