Rob's Round-up February 20

After a lotof travelling around the region, I’m really looking forward to seeing as manyof you as possible in the RYA area at the Dinghy Show on 29 February - 01March. I do hope you can make it.

InstructorDemand Survey

We have hadan excellent response to the Instructor Demand Survey that was sent to allclubs at the end of last year, and are delighted with the very positivecomments about the quality of the RYA Instructor courses. The survey, which wehave now opened to commercial centres too, has identified where there is a needfor more courses, and this information will inform our future plans. If youhaven’t already responded, it’s not too late to submit your views.

Inspectionallocations

This year’sinspection allocations will be going out in the next couple of weeks. Pleasecan you contact your inspector as soon as you receive your allocation, in orderto arrange the inspection before August if at all possible. Last year’sinspections went on far longer into the year than we would have liked, particularly as we need to see on-water activity. So if, for any reason, youcan’t get hold of your inspector quickly, please do contact me.

Training and development

The recent NationalTraining Conference was the first one for me as the Regional DevelopmentOfficer, after having attended as a coach in the past. It was nice to view itall ‘from the other side’ and see just how much everyone gets out of theworkshops, whether they’re freelance or club/centre instructors.

Our ClubDevelopment Forums are well underway now, with workshops on variety oftopics still planned in your area.

And if youneed to catch up on information, don’t forget that you can watch recordings of allsix Future of Sailing webinars, including the two most recent ones on Volunteeringand Member Satisfaction.
