A year in review

With the return of the festive season and rapidly approaching New Year, we’ve been reflecting on 2018. What a brilliant year it has been and we want to thank you all for your continued support – without you none of this could have happened!

DON'T MISS - The 2019 RYA Club Members' Satisfaction Survey

Want to know how satisfied your members really are?  Then make sure to register your interest for the 2019 RYA Club Members' Satisfaction Survey.

The feedback from the survey this year has been overwhelmingly positive with clubs around the UK already putting their results to good use.  Alice Allen, Honorary Secretary at Bristol Corinthian Yacht Club commented: “We have found the information and feedback received from the RYA Satisfaction Survey really useful. It has given us a clear idea of what our members really value, what they would like more of and what areas can be improved.

She added: “As a club we couldn’t carry out this sort of survey ourselves with such a detailed analysis of the responses from members. It has enabled us to plan our key areas of activity and has given us a benchmark against other clubs throughout the country.”

FREE WEBINAR - Exploring alternative club activity

Following on from the recent webinar focusing on pay and play activity, the next in the series focuses on alternative club activity; be it introducing other watersports, mixing up the traditional racing formats or introducing non-competitive activity such as cruises and ‘fun’ training days.

Hosted by Andy Rice, respected sailing journalist, the webinar also included short presentations and a Q&A session with a selection of clubs that have launched innovative initiatives to meet changing demands.

Clubs wanted for 2019 Eurosaf Scheme!

The RYA Race Officials team is on the hunt for clubs to take part in the 2019 Eurosaf Scheme, to host European officials at their events, and in return send officials to European events.

The initiative is effectively an exchange programme for European race officials to boost experience and gain skills, vital for those looking to gain international official status or get the events to assist with their renewal.

National governing bodies from across Europe bid for places at a meeting in January, then assign those places to officials.

WE’RE LOOKING FOR EVENTS - the more events, the more opportunities!

Anyone interested in taking part in the scheme should contact Trevor Lewis on tl@tlfs.org.uk as soon as possible.
