The centre is opening its doors from 10am to 4pm and everyone is welcome to come along and get afloat on a wide range of sailing dinghies and windsurfers with the centre’s top instructors.  It doesn’t matter if you’ve never stepped into a boat or onto a windsurfer before.

Sailing is awesome for the whole family because it’s something you can all do together or as individuals. You and your family can get afloat and sample the freedom and exhilaration of a fantastic outdoor sport, while kids get to mess about in boats with their friends.

Give the centre a call to book your session on 023926 63873 or email portsmouth@awc.co.uk .  The Andrew Simpson Watersports Centre is at Eastern Rd, Portsmouth PO3 5LY.

Susie Moore, RYA South Regional Development Officer, said: “We’re super excited to be giving more people the chance to have a go at something new this summer. Our national Push The Boat Out ‘try sailing’ festival throughout May saw thousands of people across the south have a go for the first time, with hundreds joining clubs and signing up to learn to sail on the spot. To extend that and get even more people out on the water is brilliant."

Just bring soft soled shoes you don’t mind getting wet and a sense of adventure! For full event details, and other dates across the south this summer, go to www.rya.org.uk/trysailing.
