Cruisers and explorers from the Dinghy Cruising Association (DCA) will be exhibiting at this year’s RYA Dinghy Show, in association with Yachts & Yachting and Suzuki (Alexandra Palace, London 02 - 03 March).

The stand (G7) will feature a hand built wooden dinghy cruiser as well as information on the DCA and the opportunity to talk to existing members and club officers.

DCA president Roger Barnes will be taking centre stage at 11.15 on Sunday (Main Stage, West Hall) with his ‘Dinghy Cruising Adventures’ talk. Roger will be talking about his latest dinghy cruising adventures and giving advice for those preparing for this year’s exciting rallies. You’ll also find Roger featuring in the Sailor’s Corner at 15.00 on Sunday. This is your chance to chat to him about all things dinghy cruising and ask your burning questions.

“The DCA exist to encourage all forms of small boat sailing other than racing, so the RYA Dinghy Show is the ideal venue to promote the idea that sailing is a fully inclusive activity, regardless of age or ability”, commented Roger.

“Some of our members have extensive sea passage experience in boats they have refined over several years, but many members are simply inveterate potterers, who enjoy sailing out to an island, down the river, or across the estuary to a favourite picnic spot.

“It’s these people we want to reach out to at Alexandra Palace to ensure every non racing sailor knows there is an association that represents them too”, he added.

So drop by the stand to meet current DCA members, have a listen in to Roger’s lively talk and find out more about rallies in the UK and abroad.
