Roger Jobson stepped down as Chair of the SW Regional Team at the end of November, after four years in the post. He has been succeeded by Chris Davis, who has been on the Team for seven years. Bob Penfold has become Vice Chair.

A retired army officer, Chris learnt to sail at school and sailed whatever and whenever he could at university, before venturing offshore in his early twenties, initially as a racing crew and then as skipper in various army yachts. He returned to sailing when his sons started in Optimists: he saw the writing on the wall and bought a Solo. Now his sons have grown up and own their own yachts, so Chris and his wife race and cruise in their white plastic sloop, out of Falmouth. He has been a Yachtmaster for over thirty years and teaches on Day Skipper and Yachtmaster courses; he is also a Regional Race Officer, being heavily involved in both Falmouth and Dartmouth Regattas.

Roger, a member Royal Dart Yacht Club, has now taken on the role of President of the SW Team and will continue to be heavily involved in its work.
