Are you interested in contributing to the development of sail racing and passionate about volunteering and the participation of women in the sport, as well as strengthening your own skills and implementing ideas within the sailing and racing community?

The RYA wants to increase the number of women in race official positions in sailing, ensure there are opportunities for women with equal access to roles, along with growing female volunteering across our sport.

The RYA are looking for volunteers to join a special working group to promote and further women as Race Officials in sail racing. If you are brimming with ideas about how to entice women volunteer race officials in to our sport, and you are happy to commit some time to the working party yourself to progress the initiative, we want to hear from you!

The RYA's Race Official Development Officer, Jacqui Roberts will be at the Dinghy Show on the Women's Sailing Hub between 11-4pm on Saturday 3 March and giving a short talk at 3pm about the launch of this exciting new initiative. Come along to meet Jacqui and find out how and why to get involved.

As part of the working group, you'd be required to attend a schedule of meetings (which can be set by the working group itself, and travel expenses can be reimbursed) and you'd receive the necessary support from the RYA to carry out any work resulting from being part of the group.

For further details or if you would like to join and feel you have plenty to contribute, please email raceofficials@rya.org.uk with a few lines about yourself and your experience. The RYA actively promotes diversity in its workforce and welcomes applications from all sections of the community. All applicants must be a current RYA member and any application would be subject to the RYA Committee Membership Procedure.
