Regional Junior Championships

This event is now confirmed for Datchet Water on the 28 and 29 September 2019.
We will have three fleets: OnBoard Fun fleet, Coached Regatta and Championship.
Intended classes for the Championship fleet will be Optimist, Topper, RS Tera and RS Feva plus all four sail sizes for the Techno windsurfer.

Zone Squads

The squads I have visited over winter have shown great improvement and are now ready for a summer season of racing.

Eric Twiname Championships

Last weekend saw the Eric Twiname Championships take place at Rutland water. This is a junior invitational event for Zone Squad sailors. Conditions were again very varied but some great racing by all. Unfortunately the L & SE Zone did not win this year but some very creditable results were put in by all the sailors. The final results can be found here and there are lots of pictures on British Youth Sailing Facebook.

Future Planning

The planning for next year’s Zone Squads is well under way. There will be no changes to the system for next winter but we are looking at the following winter for possible shake up in the structure. More news to follow.

There are a few Racing Coach level 2 courses going on in the region. If any clubs wish to run a course please get in touch More details on racing coach courses can be found here
