More than 65,000 people have discovered the sports of sailing and windsurfing through Push the Boat Out since its launch in 2012. Last year over 28,000 people attended Push the Boat Out events across the UK. With the British Sailing Team sailors amongst the World's best, sailing always enjoys a boost in Olympic years and Push the Boat Out is a great way to discover a new outdoor sport to enjoy this summer. This year, over 300 venues have signed up, so make sure you don't miss this opportunity to get afloat.

Duncan Truswell, RYA Sport Development Manager, said: "Over the past four years Push the Boat Out has enabled thousands of people who may never have even considered giving sailing a go the chance to try the sport. Many of these newcomers have since become keen sailors and are inspiring others to follow their lead and try the sport. 2016 is gearing up to be the perfect year to get into sailing."

Each open day and taster session will be different depending on the activities each club or centre offers, but all Push the Boat Out events will show you what the sports are all about; from the freedom of being on the water to the social buzz of club life and will highlight just how accessible sailing actually is to everyone. All you need for any of the Open Days or 'have a go' sessions are a change of clothes, soft soled shoes and a towel, the clubs and centres will provide everything else. Although many events are free, booking is essential for some of the activities. Refreshments will be available and a friendly smile guaranteed as BBQs and other social activities also take place to give newcomers a warm welcome.

Go on, Push the Boat Out and give it a go!!
