RYA Scotland is working in partnership with RYA Training providers You & Sea in providing FREE powerboat training on their 40’ motorboat ‘Millbrook’ and their RIB ‘Mustang’ in and around Kip Marina under the expert eye of their RYA Instructors.
We are including longer training sessions this year with a focus on building skills around berthing and manoeuvring in confined areas. RYA training provide excellent tips and aim to get people more confident about handling their boat.
RYA courses help steer 250,000 yacht sailors, power boaters, small craft leisure boaters, windsurfers and canal boaters towards confident and successful boating every year.
The RYA Scotland Pavilion hosts the marine trade and our own stand. Staff and volunteers will be on hand to inform visitors on how to make the most of their boating including information on training, safety, sustainability and highlighting the numerous RYA member benefits which can reduce the cost of your boating.
Staff and volunteers will help navigate the latest updates from The Green Blue on sustainable boating following their recent website launch at the Southampton Boat Show. The Green Blue site contains resources and advice for marine business, clubs, training centres and water users to reduce their impact on the coastal and inland waterways.
RYA Safetrx app provides all recreational boat users, particularly dinghy cruisers, PWC users, RIB users, canoers, kayakers, wind and kite surfers and smaller boat users with an easily accessible and simple to use means that can inform HM Coastguard of their voyage plans and dynamic location in the event of distress. We will also have a Virtual Reality 360 experience on the stand of a helicopter rescue.
RYA Scotland will also be hosting our Members Lounge in the Chartroom Restaurant throughout the weekend offering a relaxed atmosphere and a discounted menu, with a unique Gold Members brunch on Saturday the 12th.
