Supporting your sailors
Being an RYA Training Centre offers your sailors a progression pathway and the opportunity to grow, allowing your club to have qualified instructors on site.
Sailability offers an Achievement Scheme for those sailors that may not reach the first level of the RYA Training Scheme. The scheme has two aspects to it one for sail and one for power. The resources are available free of charge to Sailability Accredited Sites.
Supporting your volunteers
We know many sites rely heavily on the efforts of valuable volunteers. Information is available to accredited sites through RYA Club Zone on how to manage, recruit and sustain club volunteers.
Sailability offers a one day Disability Awareness Training Course for club volunteers, providing an opportunity to give helpers practical advice and an understanding of what’s involved.
Sailability also offer a Volunteer Logbook Scheme to help guide you in equipping volunteers with suitable skills that can be very beneficial to them as individuals and to the successful running of the club. A logbook per volunteer is provided with guidelines for a club administrator to run the programme. These resources and awards for each 4 levels are free of charge to Sailability Accredited Sites. The syllabus contains shore side elements, water based activities and RYA Qualifications so volunteers can choose from a variety of elements that suit them to complete each stage.
