RYA First Aid Courses

The RYA First Aid course is aimed at anyone who goes afloat, whether on inland waters, rivers, and estuaries or on cross channel passages. This one-day course is designed to provide a working knowledge of first aid for people using small craft and to support skippers. This course fulfills the first aid requirement for RYA Instructors.

There are two possible ways to set up an RYA First Aid course at your club or centre:

1. Become an RYA Training Centre recognised to teach the RYA First Aid Course. You will need to apply for shore based recognition to deliver this course and will need to have an RYA First Aid Instructor. Use the RYA Midlands Instructors Facebook group to find your local instructor. Please remember that it is the Principal’s responsibility to ensure that the instructor’s qualifications are up-to-date.

2. The other option is to find a suitably recognised RYA Training Centre that is prepared to deliver an RYA First Aid course at your club. This should not normally be a problem provided you have a suitably-sized room with refreshments and toilets. RYA Training Centres that can deliver this course can be found using the "Where's my nearest" search engine accessed from the home page on the RYA website.
