Club Development

Are you looking to get organized for the 2018 season ahead? Is your club ready to provide opportunities for current members and new participants alike?

RYA Scotland is looking to organise and support a number of local and national opportunities for clubs and training centres, throughout Scotland, to get themselves organised and planned for the season ahead and the first session shall be the Annual Club & Principals Conference.

Club & Principals Conference 2018

This event, organised by the Participation and Development Team of RYA Scotland, shall take place on Sunday 25th February at sportscotland's National Centre Inverclyde in Largs.

The day, aimed at both clubs and training centres, shall provide a great opportunity for attendees to connect to others in their local and Scotland-wide networks. It shall also provide an opportunity to share current practice whilst learning from others around key topics that shall help clubs and centres prepare for the season ahead.

Key details are as follows:

Date = Sunday 25th February 2018

Venue = sportscotland's National Centre Inverclyde, Burnside Road, Largs, KA30 8RW

Times = 9.15 tea & coffee for a 9.30am start (running until approx. 4.45pm)

Costs = £15 per place for affiliated clubs & organisations  

**Get a 3rd place free if you are paying for two places (affiliated clubs/organisations only)**

£20 for non-affiliated clubs or other organisations

Closing date for all applications (including free places) is Tuesday 13th February 2018.

The key theme for the day is around 'Retention' with session topics and support deliverers currently being finalised. Once again we have a number of clubs and centres support the day by telling 'their stories' adding weight to the information given.

Plenary Session 1 - Retention & Development

  • The first session shall introduce the theme of the day "Retention" and talk about what information you need to know and be aware of in order to develop your club or centre.

Plenary Session 2 - Developing your Club

  • The final session of the day shall be led by a club discussing their process and plan to develop a 'Vision' for the whole club and their progress so far. This shall lead into the launch of the RYA Scotland Framework and supporting resources.
