The John Merricks Sailing Trust seeks to help young sailors and youth sailing organisations to achieve their goals

As the Official Charity Partner of OnBoard, the JMST will donates at least 10 single-handed junior pathway boats and boards (Optimist, Topper, Laser 4.7, RS Tera and Bic Techno 293OD) to deserving young sailors every year, providing them with the opportunity to progress their skills and continue to participate in the sport.

The boats will be gifted to promising youngsters who display enthusiasm and commitment to the sport and who may not ordinarily have the opportunity or financial backing to achieve their goals.

Every year, the JMST Scheme provides young sailors from across the country with their own equipment, which after two years is given to their supporting organisation.

Applications for 2021 will open on the 1st July.

 To be considered:

  1. Please read the Notice of Selection document to establish your eligibility
  2. Complete the Declaration of Eligibility (expression of interest) form before the Indicator Event in 2021
  3. Eligible sailors must enter and compete at the British Youth Sailing Regional Junior Championships in same year.

Sailors will then be shortlisted and invited to complete an application form after the event.
