RYA OnBoard is a national programme which helps clubs and centres promote and deliver sailing and windsurfing opportunities to young people.

It provides a nationally recognised brand which helps connect and support a network of providers who have been recognised for their dedication and commitment to the inclusive mission and values of RYA OnBoard.

The RYA would like to enable more young people to experience sailing and windsurfing through their local club or centre in a safe, structured and fun environment, whilst being introduced to the excitement, adventure and relaxation that being on the water can offer. We know that sailing and windsurfing sessions are a great way of teaching a wide range of invaluable life skills, from problem solving to leadership and teamwork, but at the core of RYA OnBoard is enjoyment and fun for all those involved.

By being part of RYA OnBoard you can also benefit from a national communications campaign, targeting parents, teachers and schools, with the aim of creating more demand for sailing and windsurfing at RYA OnBoard clubs and centres.

Boosting junior membership, improving revenue, gaining greater awareness within the local community and making a difference to the lives of young people taking part, are just some of the ways in which participating clubs and centres have benefited.

RYA OnBoard clubs and centres can also benefit from a range of exclusive offers and discounts from leading sailing and windsurfing suppliers including Gill, Harken, ICOM, RS Sailing, Topper and Laser Performance.

Every new RYA OnBoard provider that joins the programme receives a branded OnBoard gilet and buoyancy aid and has access to a wide range of discounted OnBoard material including team rash vests and marketing resources.

All RYA OnBoard providers are required to hold RYA Recognised Training Centre status for youth sailing or youth windsurfing courses.
