Following the recent relaxation of lockdown restrictions in England and many other overseas locations, we know that many of you are keen to explore how your centre may be able to safely restart RYA training activity when Government guidance allows.
You will have seen that we recently issued guidance to assist RYA recognised training centres when considering, if, when and how RYA training activity should take place.
View the guidance here.
We would encourage all centres to take their time and use all the information available to carefully plan and develop policies which will best suit their operations. We appreciate the situation will be different for each and every centre, depending on their location, operations and individual circumstances.
Centres should only consider reopening if and when they are ready and able to facilitate safe activity, with appropriate social distancing measures, hygiene procedures and risk management practices.

Part 2 - 'Small' Boat Schemes
08 June 2020
RYA Chief Instructors, Amanda Van Santen and Rachel Andrews consider how the gradual easing of lockdown restrictions in many countries will impact RYA recognised training centres, particularly those that run dinghy, windsurfing or personal watercraft activity, and discuss the temporary RYA variations in place to help centres recommence operations at this time.
Information and advice for instructors
As well as guidance for centres thinking about restarting RYA training activity, there is also information for instructors on everything from maintaining your qualifications, to important temporary variations you should be aware of when returning to work. Find out more.
Financial and legal guidance
The RYA Legal Team have been working hard to interpret UK Government guidance and to communicate support packages that may benefit RYA clubs and centres. For more information about the legal, financial and insurance support available to centres and instructors at this challenging time, please visit the RYA COVID-19 Hub page and FAQs for Affiliated Clubs, Classes and Recognised Training Centres on the Training Support Site.
