Active Club of the Year finalist

Derwent Reservoir Sailing Club is located in a rural area in the North East and works hard to raise awareness of the club to the local community. The club has improved access by introducing new watersports, including paddleboarding, kayaking, kitefoiling and swimming.  By offering day tickets for paddleboarders 120 paddlers have used the club, many of who have now become members.  Encouraging family participation, the club has empowered newcomers, and promoted youth sailing, instruction, resulting in an increased membership.
