Conference workshops

The conference will offer you the chance to attend one of these workshops:

Creating a great experience

As part of the team that delivers activity ashore or on the water, explore the part you play in creating positive experiences that encourage people to come back again and again - and tell their friends to come too! Share examples of getting it right and learn from when it hasn’t gone so well.

Improving accessibility

Think about how accessible your information, facilities and services really are. Reflect on what you can improve, how to make the environment even more welcoming and better market your accessibility.

Making your volunteer experience meaningful

Make genuine connections with your volunteers - share ideas, reflect on the challenges you face, and think about where you could do more.

Racing activity that inspires

Creating and delivering racing activity that inspires sailors to do more, to learn more.

Securing the funding you need

Get a picture of the funding landscape and how you fit into it. Eplore different types of fundraising, including crowdsourcing. Reflect on what goes into a good fundraising plan and learn how to find the right funder. Get top tips of writing successful funding applications and find out about the support available from the RYA and further afield.

Building your confidence around risk assessment

Risk assessments help us do adventurous activities, but doing them well can be difficult. Tim Morton, from Adventure RMS, has worked in adventure activities for 30 years and will guide you through the approaches you could take, developing you understanding and confidence around risk assessment so you can apply it to your situation and organisation.

Understanding equality beyond disability and ensuring a truly inclusive experience

Explore how to create a truly inclusive experience. Ensuring participants and volunteers have allies and a voice in your organisation. Know when concerns need to be challenged and addressed.
