The European Commission, through its appointed consultant Panteia, is conducting a study to determine the merits of possible mutual recognition of boating licenses for recreational boat operators.

Although the study is looking at the situation in EU Member States, views and experiences from UK boaters are being sought as part of this process.

RYA members are invited to complete the Panteia survey, which asks about boaters’ experiences of having evidence of their competence accepted abroad.

The RYA hopes that the study may eventually lead to improved acceptance of the ICC in EU Member States.

The questionnaire is available to complete until 31 May 2024. Contributors from the UK will need to select ‘Other’ when choosing their nationality and residency.
