OnBoard gives anyone aged 8-18 the chance to learn to sail by providing low cost opportunities for schools, youth groups and families to have fun afloat.

Anthony Wilde, Principal of My Blue Pass, said:

My Blue Pass is proud to announce that we are a member of the RYA OnBoard Scheme. MBP’s mission is to provide water sports experiences for 8-16 years, free of charge, in particular those who would not otherwise have the opportunity. These include sailing, kayaking and stand-up-paddleboarding. As a registered charity we welcome the full support of OnBoard which will be a great benefit to all involved.

Hannah Cockle, RYA OnBoard Operations Officer, commented: “It’s great to welcome My Blue Pass to the RYA OnBoard programme. Getting out on the water has a huge amount

of benefits which go way beyond just learning a new skill. We look forward to working with them and the local community in the future.”

As a recognised RYA Training Centre, My Blue Pass conforms to the highest standards of safety and quality. My Blue Pass sails on the River Stour in Essex. You can find out more about the Club here.

“Run by sailing’s National Governing Body, the RYA, OnBoard is a hugely successful grass roots programme which seeks to make sailing and windsurfing easier to access for 8-18 year olds. Launched in 2005 the programme has helped introduce nearly 1,000,000 young people across the country to sailing and windsurfing.

The low cost sessions are designed to promote equal access to sailing for young people from all social and economic backgrounds, whilst encouraging their character development.
