Taking place between 7 and 8 September, this competition will see U19 sailors from all over Ireland come together for two days of racing at Strangford Lough Yacht Club.

There will be 8 fleets racing. Namely, Optimists, Topper 4.2’s, Topper 5.3’s, ILCA 4’s, ILCA 6’s, RS Feva’s, 29er’s and a Regatta Fleet.

The Regatta Fleet will run in conjunction with RYA Northern Ireland’s OnBoard programme and will be geared to sailors with limited experience of racing. On the first day of competition, they will receive coaching, providing an opportunity to learn racing skills. On the second day, there will be ‘fun style races’, giving sailors an introduction to what a competition feels like.

Meanwhile, on the main competition racecourse, more intense racing will take place. Over 100 participants are expected, making it Northern Ireland’s largest multi-class event.

This competition will also be held in conjunction with the 29er Northern Championships. The 29er is a growing class in Northern Ireland, so it will be exciting to see boats from the whole of Ireland travel to Strangford Lough Yacht Club for this event.

Partnership Opportunities

RYA Northern Ireland is looking for companies and organisations to partner with ahead of this year’s event.

A variety of partnership opportunities are available. These range from a £300 Race Sponsorship where partners will receive the benefit of increased publicity through event reporting and their company highlighted on the results sheet, to our Title Sponsor at £3000, who will receive tailored promotion through our website and social media, as well as the opportunity to address attendees of the event at the prize giving.

If you would like to discuss any partnership options, please contact our CEO, Greg Yarnall, by emailing greg.yarnall@rya.org.uk
