The portal is a Sport and Leisure Procurement service brought to members via an agreement between the Welsh Sports Association (WSA), Community Leisure UK (CLUK) and procurement specialists 2buy2.

Collective procurement support has been raised during the recent RYA Cymru Wales regional consultation events held across the Country during October and November 2022, and now affiliated clubs and organisations can benefit from this new service.

The portal provides self-service access to a range of approved supplier lists, framework agreements, quotes & pricing from pre-accredited suppliers, and to access these via a RFQ (request for quote) process, will be free. There will also be access to a series of best practice procurement guides, templates, and procedures free of charge.

There are opportunities available through 2buy2’s existing product categories, include Electricity, Gas, Water, Chemicals, Telecoms, Cleaning products, IT Support, HR support, Solar solutions, Broadband etc. Additional, demand led, services and products will continue to be added to the portal as and when required.

Chris Munro, RYA CW Chief Executive, said: “We have listened to the challenges that our clubs and organisations are experiencing, and this is an important step in supporting our affiliates during these difficult financial times. We are grateful to the Welsh Sports Association for providing this service which is in addition to the existing benefits our clubs and organisations receive as part of their RYA affiliation”

Tom Sharp, WSA’s Commercial Manager, said: “We are extremely proud to be able to offer such a comprehensive procurement offering to the sport and leisure sector, and are thrilled that RYA Cymru Wales are coming aboard! The team has been working hard to prove the case for collective procurement for many years and, with member clubs and organisations of NGBs like RYA Cymru Wales having required such a service for some time, we are delighted that this vision has now come to fruition.

“We strive to enable the sport and leisure sector to thrive and be prosperous and, with current obstacles and challenging times ahead of us, we’re delighted to be able to offer greater collaboration and allow RYA Cymru Wales affiliated clubs and organisations to take advantage of the savings that are available through our Procurement Portal.”
