It will now be able to run a variety of RYA courses and award certificates for sailing. RYA courses and qualifications are respected worldwide and centres are regularly inspected to ensure they meet high standards of tuition and safety. Rollesby joins a network of over 2,400 RYA recognised training centres in 58 countries.

Tamsin Highfield, the Club’s Vice Commodore, said:

“Rollesby are thrilled to be able to offer RYA recognised courses. We are a family friendly club offering tuition, casual sailing and racing at all levels. We hope that the new RYA status will increase opportunities for families to learn to sail together and build friendships among our younger sailors.”

Robbie Bell, Regional Development Officer for the East said:

“It’s great to welcome Rollesby Broad Sailing Club to become a Recognised Training Centre – this is the culmination of a lot of hard work by the Club to provide RYA tuition and encourage the next generation of sailors into the sport.”
