2023 marked the beginning of a five-year journey for RYA Northern Ireland as we launched our Navigating The Future strategy and we are delighted about the progress we have made towards achieving our strategic aims.

Our annual report, which represents the period between April 2023 and March 2024, sees that sailing in Northern Ireland continues to thrive.

Looking ahead to celebrating the 50th Anniversary of RYA Northern Ireland, our athletes continue to thrive at a performance level and our sport continues to become more diverse and inclusive.

RYA Northern Ireland Chair, Susan McKnight, commented: “This has been a successful first year (of our strategy) … with some notable achievements over the last year.

“The last 50 years have seen amazing developments in our support and as we look forward with excitement and anticipation to the next 50 years, I want to thank you all for your support.”

RYA Northern Ireland CEO, Greg Yarnall, added: “Thank you to our main funders, Sport NI and RYA and to the Mary Peter’s trust for the support they provide to our young sailors.

“It has been fantastic to get to know people of the Northern Ireland sailing community over the last 12 months. It is always positive and uplifting to see the positive difference clubs and individuals are making to people’s lives through sailing and boating.”

Our annual report details progress towards achieving our strategic aims and the latest updates relating to our strategic foundations from our five-year strategy, Navigating The Future.
