After a successful summer as RYA Scotland's Interim Pathway Sailing Officer, we are delighted to announce that Ben Luckett has been appointed as RYA Scotland Pathway Development Officer following a competitive recruitment process.
Since he joined the staff team, Ben has hit the ground running at various events, out at clubs, getting to know our sailors, and has had a valuable impact on the RYA Scotland Pathway offering.
Pleased to be getting stuck in, Ben is excited for this weekend's Giant Academy:
"I'm really looking forward to the Giant Academy this weekend, it's going to be a great way to kick off our Academy Program throughout the Winter. Really looking forward to seeing lots of people there."
With his sailing journey starting in an Enterprise at the age of 5 on the East Coast in Felixstowe, the outdoors are important to Ben and have shaped a lot of his previous experience. Between studying Adventure Education at the University of Chichester, and carrying out several seasons abroad managing Mark Warner centres - Ben brings with him an undeniable passion as well as a wealth of RYA qualifications and expertise.
Now having moved north of the border, Ben says he’s feeling motivated, and hopes to offer a friendly face.
With the pathway team now well equipped to support and nurture youth and junior participants to become the best sailors they can be, we can’t wait to keep supporting positive experiences afloat.
