The Big Weekend will bring together people from across sailing and boating in Wales.
Come along to get Together on our Waters at Plas Menai National Outdoor Centre for a host of hands-on activities to help you stretch or refresh your skills.
Need a pre-entry assessment? Want to try racing on yachts? Looking to try out winging or develop your SUP skills? Need a revalidation of your instructor qualification?
The Big Weekend – 5/6 October 2024 at Plas Menai - will cover all this and more!
There is something for everyone and new for this year, there will be youth activities for 8 to 14-year-olds, so no need to book or organise separate childcare.
Whether you are an instructor or coach, club committee member, volunteer or paid member of staff, or a watersports enthusiast looking to try something new or develop your skills, this weekend is for you!
Connect with like-minded people from our network of clubs and training centres and join us for this celebration of our community and Plas Menai’s 40th anniversary.
In addition to instructor pre-assessments and revalidations, options include:
- Safety Boat, First Aid and Regional Mark Laying courses
- SUP exploring and wingsurfing
- keelboat sailing, cruising instructor prep and digital navigation
- intermediate powerboat, performance sailing and windsurfing skills
- outboard engine maintenance
- Swim Safe and OnBoard
- running successful and safe events
- integrating paddleboarding and winging into your offer
- club development workshops
It’s just £30 a day or £50 for the weekend, including lunch. There is a 20% discount for under-25s and Plas Menai has special accommodation and camper van rates.
