RYA Connected Events offer the opportunity for affiliates across Northern Ireland to come together to share experiences and learn best practices

RYA Connected events are back, offering the opportunity for RYA affiliates to come together and learn about different topics such as governance, safeguarding, Sailability and racing.

These events are designed to improve sailing and boating experiences collectively for affiliates across the country.

RYA Connected: Growing Club Membership- Monday 3 February, 7-8pm

Club membership has reduced by around 3% over the last year however but there are a group of clubs who are bucking the trend and are showing continued membership and activity growth. This webinar aims to share learnings to help clubs across the country to grow.

There will be a panel of experts including:

RYA Connected: Sailability Forum- Thursday 20 February, 7:45- 9pm

This forum is for Sailability affiliates and affiliates who are keen to introduce a Sailability programme at their club & learn how you can gather insights on your own club membership and how you can make your club more accessible. 

We will be discussing your 2025 priorities and how RYA NI can support these

RYA Connected: Increasing Racing Activity- 3 March, 7-8pm

The number of boats on club racing start lines in the UK is reducing. In this webinar, we’ll explore some of the reasons for this, and hear from some clubs who are managing to stem the tide and grow their racing participants.

You will have the opportunity to ask questions from an expert panel including:

2025 RYA NI Commodore and Vice Commodore Evening- Thursday 6 March, 6:30-9pm

This evening offers the opportunity for Commodores and Vice Commodores from affiliated clubs across the country to come together, share experiences and learn about governance and safeguarding best practices.

This year we are delighted to have NICVA deliver a workshop on good governance. Good governance is essential for an organisation to have direction, plan ahead, be effective and meet legal requirements. This training will develop and improve your governance knowledge to ensure that your organisation is governed and led effectively.  We will cover the role of the committee/board, the principles of good governance and best practice considerations.

RYA NI will chat about the Compliance Toolkit which aims to help your RYA Affiliated Club to operate with robust compliance and governance.

RYA Connected: How to run a successful Discover Sailing Day- Thursday 20 March, 7.45 - 9pm

In this connected workshop we will be supporting clubs with registering and running their Discover Sailing day.
