A communications group has been launched by RYA Cymru Wales to help Affiliated clubs and training centres to connect with the latest updates and each other.

A WhatsApp community called Together on our Waters is being trialled to make it easier for those involved in running activities afloat in Wales to find and share information.

It is for over-16s only and includes number of sub-groups for particular areas of interest:

  • Club Development – including courses and webinars, funding opportunities and events, and the RYA Cymru Wales blog
  • Post it, Share it – open to all for those who want to share activities, successes, events and open days
  • Trainers – for those involved in delivering instructor courses and RYA inspections of training centres
  • Principals and chief instructors of RYA Recognised Training Centres
  • Race Officials – for Regional Race Officers and above to share knowledge and insights

Hester Walker, Club Development Officer for RYA Cymru Wales, explained: “Our WhatsApp community ‘Together on our Waters’ and its sub-groups are just a pilot at this stage, but we’d like to give it a go to see if it enables our network of clubs and centres to gain and share useful knowledge and helps them to thrive and feel connected and supported.”

Join the RYA CW ‘Together on our Waters’ WhatsApp community or get in touch if you’d like to know more about how it works and the various sub-groups.
