Nominations are now open for the RYA Cymru Wales Impact Awards!
Officially launched at The Big Weekend for clubs, training centres and instructors at Plas Menai (14-15 September 2023), the awards will shine a light on those who deserve recognition for going above and beyond to support activities afloat in Wales.
RYA Cymru Wales Impact Awards will be presented regularly throughout the year to celebrate the achievements of individuals and organisations, whose dedication enables our sport from the grassroots upwards to be successful, sustainable, inclusive and valued.
With the aim of recognising more people, more widely and more often, the awards are for all those involved in our incredible network, including RYA members and participants; staff and volunteers; instructors, coaches and race officials; clubs, classes and training centres.
RYA Cymru Wales Chief Executive James Stuart said: “We are proud to announce that nominations are now officially open and look forward to hearing about the commitment, hard work and achievements which we know are the foundation to our fantastic sport.
“Nominations might be a personal thank you to an individual or organisation, or a wider recognition of their impact on the sport, their club or centre, or their local community.
“We are inviting people to reflect on their experiences of getting on the water in Wales and to let us know about those who make a difference so we can recognise their contribution.”
Nominations will remain open with no closing date and will be reviewed every other month by the RYA Cymru Wales team, with regular awards made on a rolling basis. The first recipients will be announced in early January 2024.
