RYA regional team member Steve Long writes:
The mixture of sailors from the Sea Cadets, Wembley Sailing Club, Welsh Harp Sailing Club and visitors from Bury Lake Young Mariners provided great ambiance and promised good competition on the water.
The morning started well, despite the lack of wind making course setup a real headache for the race officer's team, who somehow managed to get one race started during the only gust of the morning. Tricky light conditions required advanced sailing skills, and soon fleets were competing in search for the breeze.

The wind, or lack of, did not allow for a second start and the fleets headed back to the club to share a well-deserved common picnic. Whilst the feasting was going on, race officers went back on the water to witness the complete disappearance of the wind, making sailing impossible. That was certainly not enough to spoil the party, and the racing turned into a crazy but fun paddling competition.

Racing results were only based on the single morning race. Well done to:
Blue Fleet (Laser / Feva / Quest / Fusion)
Green Fleet (Topper / Pico / Teras)

Huge thanks to the 18 helpers who did an incredible job and made the event possible, race officers, safety boat, kitchen caterer, registration, results and of course lively colourful tally boards. Thumbs up for the volunteer RYA instructors who provided the extra professional touch.
