RYA's Amanda Van Santen with new Chief Instructor Liz McMaster

We are delighted to welcome Liz McMaster to the RYA, as she takes on the role of Chief Instructor for the Dinghy and Windsurfing schemes (and associated foiling, multihull, keelboat and winging schemes).

Liz has a long history in a wide number of roles at Rockley Watersports (an RYA recognised training centre), and has been a trainer for the dinghy and windsurfing schemes for some time.

As part of the RYA’s senior training team, Liz has assisted in the training and assessment of new trainers, as well as mentoring aspiring trainers for many years. More recently Liz has worked in a more strategic role for Swim England.

Liz takes over from Amanda Van Santen, who after 17 years with the RYA will be leaving to spend more time with her family.

In her time with the RYA Amanda has achieved a huge amount and leaves the RYA training schemes for which she has been responsible in a very strong position.

In addition to the development of many other initiatives, Amanda’s achievements include:

RYA Director of Training and Qualifications, Richard Falk commented: “We had several very strong and experienced candidates for the role which is testimony to the strength of the team of trainers that have supported Amanda over the years.

“I am delighted to have Liz joining the team and know that the RYA training network will all welcome and support her in her new role.”
