New Activity Coordinators Support OnBoard

New for 2022, we have introduced 3 Regional Activity Co-ordinators to provide additional support to a small number of clubs and centres within the North, East and West regions of Scotland.

Kian Sterritt, will be leading in the North, Dugal Wilson in the East and Iain Duncan in the West. The aim of their roles are to help organisations deliver fun, quality activity for junior sailors and support the planning of future activity at clubs and centres. Ultimately this will support our young sailor’s journey, encouraging them to get afloat alongside others within the region as part of Onboard Introductory Festivals.

The Regional Activity Coordinators have started to see where they can offer ‘support’ over the summer. It is not about delivering all the activity but about helping junior activity continue to grow in targeted clubs and centres, and especially after the difficulties of the last two years.

We are very pleased that three OnBoard Introductory Festivals are taking place over the weekend of the 27th and 28th of August, at James Hamilton Heritage Park in East Kilbride, Lochcarron Sailing Club, on Loch Carron in the North West and at Monikie Country Park outside Dundee.

The festivals offer children aged between 8-13 the chance to try sailing in a safe, fun and structured environment.

As a new initiative we have allocated each Activity Co-ordinator a small number of days to support the region to see how this can develop in the future.
