We love cheering on Scottish sailors as they get stuck into various endeavours across the country and further afield. Recently, we had the pleasure of seeing Pathway sailor Charlotte Vale head out to Athens to compete at the Techno 293 European Championships.

Not lacking in motivation, it’s fantastic to see more and more young sailors grabbing these opportunities to compete, develop, and improve.

For more on the Techno 293 Euro’s, we’ve been hearing directly from Charlotte:

“At the end of October I took part in the Techno 293 European Championship in Athens. It was an amazing experience with almost 300 windsurfers from across Europe competing together.

“The conditions were good all week, warm, sunny and lots of wind (16-20 knots most days).

“It was a great event where I learnt a lot about racing especially in a bigger fleet and how to find room on the start line. When I was there I got to compete with the other members of the British team, some of whom I had met at other events like Scottish Fin & Foil and the ETs (Eric Twiname Championships).

“We worked well as a team, helping each other out and encouraging each other with great coaching from Emma and James.

“I had a lot of fun at the European Championships and learnt a lot. I can't wait to go to another international competition now.”
