RYA Scotland is proud to launch RYA Scotland Youth Voices - our dynamic new approach to youth engagement designed to amplify the voices of young people within the Scottish sailing community.
Aimed at individuals aged 14 to 25* with a passion for sailing and boating in Scotland, Youth Voices is a group designed to empower the next generation of Scottish sailors, giving young people the chance to influence the direction of the sport across the country.
Whether you're a competitive sailor, an instructor, a club volunteer or simply someone who loves spending time on the water - this is your chance to help shape the future of sailing in Scotland.
The group will meet online up to six times a year, with additional opportunities to collaborate in person. Participants will get the chance to input and shape a variety of RYA Scotland endeavours and identify a range of new projects for the group to get stuck into.
Youth Voices members will work closely with RYA Scotland’s Under 25 Director Jill Reid, as well as a wider network of young changemakers with experience across various sailing disciplines.
Participants will join the cohort for an initial two-year term, with the option to extend. Please note, 23 is the upper age cut off at time of joining, to allow a full two-year term within the 14-25 age bracket.
We’re looking to bring together up to 10 young people this September to come on board and kickstart the first 2 years of this exciting new Youth Voices group, with plenty room to grow and evolve in future years.
Whether you're looking to develop your leadership skills, build your network, or make a tangible impact in sailing, RYA Scotland Youth Voices is your platform.

RYA Scotland Youth Voices follows a period of consultation at a range of events over the past year and a half, where we encouraged young people to help shape our new approach to youth engagement - allowing them to inform our planning process, and ensure Youth Voices meets the needs of the community.
