RYANI Recognition 2020

09 Oct 20

With the current Restrictions as they are and the unknowns of the winter period, prohibiting our traditional get together, the RYA NI has taken the difficult decision not to run our Annual Awards as usual this year.

We do, however, wish to recognise the hard work that has been undertaken to keep your clubs and centres running; celebrating what has been achieved and highlighting any special individual contributions.

Club committees have had to wrangle with understanding the restrictions, providing new and alternative activities whilst balancing pressure from members, the public and authorities.

To that end RYANI would like to collate a series of stories about what you have achieved, ran, or reimagined under these pressures. We have a couple of ideas to get us started, but we want to know more. Has anything positive come from 2020? Who has been a star in keeping up morale? Can we recognise how you have overcome challenges faced during the pandemic? What activity did you undertake?

We would also like to compile a video of the year, showcasing activity and achievements so please send us any pictures and videos so that we can make a compilation.

The stories, videos or pictures could include events you have run, interviews with members or volunteers, images of sailing, Covid-19 warnings, anything that has been happening at or through your club or training centre. These stories or pictures could be things you have already posted on your website or social media channels. Also, we would love to hear from individuals as well as club committees. We will share all of this throughout December and January, so please, do join in.

Now, get your thinking caps on have a scroll through your or your club/centre social media. The work carried out in clubs and centres this season has been truly remarkable and needs to be recognised.

To be featured, please fill out our submission form, which allows for document submission, or alternatively please email ryani@rya.org.uk with your suggestions.
