Boats anchored in a bay

As part of the landmark EU LIFE Recreation ReMEDIES Project, we’re asking recreational boaters to share their views and experiences of anchoring and mooring.

The 4-year seagrass restoration project, of which the RYA is a project partner alongside Natural England, Ocean Conservation Trust, Marine Conservation Society, and Plymouth City Council, will soon be coming to a close.

The Green Blue, the RYA’s environmental outreach programme, has played a key role in raising awareness of anchoring and mooring best practice, with free webinars, exhibiting and speaking at boating events, as well as developing guidance material.

The results of the survey will help to evaluate the reach and success of the project in terms of education and behaviour change.

Natural England has commissioned Powellite Impact, an independent research and evaluation agency, to analyse the results of the project.  As part of the project’s overall evaluation, they would like to understand recreational boaters’ views and experiences of anchoring and mooring in seagrass. Your response will be vital in helping Natural England to understand the impact of the ReMEDIES project.

The survey should take no longer than ten minutes to complete and is completely anonymous. The closing date for responses is Sunday 7 July 2024.
