Announced on 4December, the purpose of the fund is to help address the economic consequencesof the COVID 19 health pandemic which has affected the sports sector. With thesports sector facing lost income due to COVID-19 lockdown and ongoingrestrictions, the Fund will help to minimise financial stress and help sustainclubs.
Sport NI requires ‘consolidated’ submissions to be made, which means onesubmission per recognised sport. Therefore, in order to have an applicationsubmitted, RYA affiliated clubs must provide the relevant information, asspecified by Sport NI and within the given timeframes, to RYANI. Correspondence has been sent toclubs asking those intending to submit an application, tocomplete an Expression of Interest Form by Tuesday 15 December 2020.
RYANI ChiefOperating Officer Richard Honeyford commented: “We welcome the announcement that the sports sector will be receiving further support. We are looking to establish points of contact so we can adviseof the process or the administration of this fund.
“Clubs shouldensure they read the relevant SportNI guidance and start to collate the necessaryinformation requested in preparation for submission.”
