About the role 

We currently have one upcoming vacancy as a result of Rachel Maguire coming to the end of her second term on the RYA’s Audit & Risk Committee. The committee is responsible for monitoring the operation of the Association’s financial control processes and its management of risk.   

Reporting to the Board of Directors the committee oversees the relationship with the RYA’s external auditors, and its members provide independent advice and guidance to RYA staff.   

The committee meets three times each year either virtually or in London and issues an annual report to the Board, which give details of its activities and findings.

Some knowledge of the RYA and its ways of working would be beneficial, but not essential. In addition to the skills and experience you would expect a member of this committee to have we are particularly keen to hear from people with a detailed understanding of digital and cyber risks, be that external or from an internal project perspective that can be applied to an organisation of our size and complexity.
