Each year the RYA Volunteer awards recognise the outstanding contributions made by volunteers throughout the UK.
Volunteers from across the country are recognised for their exceptional
dedication and achievements in boating.
Even though we have all been through the craziest of years,
do you still know someone who deserves to be recognised and who a Volunteer
Award would make a real difference to.
A hardworking volunteer (young or old) who really makes a
difference in helping others get out on the water?
Someone who helps keep a club on an even keel?
An unsung hero who has worked quietly in the background
going unnoticed for years but without, the club would be worse off?
A family who have worked tirelessly to support their club?
Maybe a volunteer who has supported disability sailing and
deserves to be recognised?
Someone who despite the pandemic has devoted their time to the club and club activities to ensure members can still get out on the water?
Or a worthy recipient of the Honor Preston Award which was
introduced last year to recognise someone who has made a significant
contribution in time, effort, and personal endeavour to increase the
inclusivity of boating, in particular (although not limited to) female
It is intended that successful nominees and their guest will be invited to receive their Awards at a presentation ceremony in November 2021. Whilst every effort will be made to honour this special day it may be necessary to make alternative arrangements for the presentation due to events beyond our control.
Nominations for the RYA Volunteer Awards 2021 are now closed. Winners of the 2021 awards will be announced in August.
