Sailing and boating are open to anyone, no matter what age or disability.

Making minor adjustments to your facilities, or providing a little extra help, can enable your existing members to continue enjoying their boating for longer, as well as offering opportunities to new participants.  Click on the 'Top Five Sailability Myths' link under Related Pages for some practical tips.

Sailability is the RYA’s national programme enabling people with disabilities to try boating and take part regularly.  Approved Sailability sites have boats and facilities to cater for everyone.

All RYA clubs and training centres should be able to respond appropriately to an enquiry from someone with a disability and discuss whether they are able to make reasonable adjustments to meet that individual’s needs.  The RYA Training policy on candidates with a disability can be found by clicking the link on the right.
