Midlands cruising and offshore clubs

Cruising and offshore clubs based in the land-locked Midlands provide exciting opportunities to sail on the coast at home and abroad.

There are number of RYA Affiliated cruising clubs in the region and some dinghy clubs also have yachting sections. Activities include yachting weekends and holidays and many have busy social programmes, including guest speakers.

There are opportunities to develop skills and confidence on the water, or undertake sea miles and training towards qualifications such as RYA Competent Crew and RYA Day Skipper, and some clubs are RYA Recognised Training Centres.

Midlands clubs can also be found competing in events such as the Round the Island Race from Cowes and offshore races with the Royal Ocean Racing Club.

You do not have to own a boat and all offer a warm welcome to anyone with an interest in ‘big boat’ sailing whatever their experience level, including novices or dinghy sailors keen to try something new, and experienced yacht sailors looking to enjoy time on the water with likeminded friends.
