Welsh Youth Squads

The RYA Cymru Wales Youth Squad programme supports 40 sailors under the age of 18. Find out how to apply and which classes are supported.

Training is run over a number of residential and non-residential weekends and tailored dates (for those classes with fewer boats). These Squads aim to boost sailors into GBR National Squads and support those already in Squads. Training is run by very experienced coaches who’s aims are to; develop a culture of excellence and personal responsibility, optimist equipment and partnerships, campaign and programme management.

Applications for Welsh Squad places will be open in September. Please ensure you have a read of the 2021-2022 Squad Selection Policy in the link at the bottom of the page.
