February 2022

Here we are once again with the latest instalment from Wales!

Hwyl fawr Gerwyn, a Diolch / Goodbye Gerwyn, and thanks……

We received the news this week that our Chief Executive Officer here in Wales has decided to move on to pastures new. Gerwyn has been with us for nearly 3 years and it’s been great to work with him in what has been an immensely difficult time for the RYA.

We’d like to wish him the best of luck, and we’re sure our paths will cross again in the very near future.

Get back on the water!

It’s getting very close now to that time of year when the weather gets a little bit better, and we clean up our boats and get out on the water! Something that works really well to get all your members engaged very quickly is to organise a ‘Get Back on the Water Day’ at your club.

This is a perfect opportunity to get your members down to meet, socialise, and share stories of what they’ve been up to over the Winter months. It will also obviously encourage everyone to get back on the water!

Face to Face meetings

With Covid rules loosening and things getting back to some kind of normality, we’re very keen to get back out there and engage with our clubs on a one-to-one, face-to-face basis. We’d love to see you all again, so if you’d like to meet up for a chat, discuss any issues and plans for the future, get in touch with your Regional Club Development Officer.

Instructor Training Days

We have a few regional instructor training days planned in the coming weeks. To ensure that as many instructors and race coaches can benefit from the updates and ideas from the Instructor Training Days, they are being delivered over a series of midweek evenings.

These free online sessions cover the hot topics that we hope will get you ready for the season ahead. You can find out what’s going and book yourselves on by following these links:
